Carol’s Corner is a bright and uplifting compilation of the author’s original prose, poetry and music, interspersed with other assorted illustrations of art and song. It encompasses the Love of Christ and God’s desire for us to know Him in a personal way, through prayer. Carol’s poetry depicts the beauty and awe of Creation, the delicacy and joy of life, itself, when stippled with God’s love and favor. Many years ago, several original writings were written in times of sorrow but burst forth today with hope and comfort and peace, through Christ who loves us.
He leads me by quiet waters.
Psalm 23: 2
THE LOVE OF CHRIST
For my first post, a few weeks after Resurrection Sunday, I thought it would be fitting to post a message that celebrates the love that brought Christ to the cross for us…
John, chapter, 17 contains one of Jesus' only documented prayers, aside from the Our Father and the prayer for Lazarus...
4/28/2022
Following Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection from the grave; before he ascended into heaven, Jesus prayed. He prayed not only for himself and His disciples, but He prayed for us and those who would be saved through our testimony; a sweet and poignant prayer from Him who desired our safety on earth and ultimately our company, our presence, in His heavenly realm.
Jesus said: "My prayer is not for them (the ones who accept Jesus as Savior) alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message." That means people who hear about Jesus, today, from Christians who speak about Him; people who read about Jesus, today, from Christians who write about Him. His prayer for us is to be with Him, in glory, in heaven…His prayer, before He ascended into heaven, before He left His disciples on this earth; in lovingkindness, He thought about and prayed for you and me.
Prayer for Today:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for offering your strength and courage when we become weary. Thank you for knowing our needs before we ask. May we enter into your presence more often, to know your blessed peace, comfort and rest; to know the renewal only you can bring. Thank you for inviting us to come boldly to you, Lord, and speak our thanks and our requests, trusting your promise to walk with us always.
Thank you for making all the difference in my life and in the lives of countless others. Thank you for your sacrifice of love and for your victory over death at the cross and the reality of the empty tomb, assuring us that, because you live, we shall live, also.
Thank you for your great love for us; that your love stretches far, “farther than the East is from the West.” Thank you for appointing us as recipients as well as presenters of your great love to those we meet...and thank you for your power, that keeps us close, in the palm of your hands. Praise your holy name for introducing us to the Holy Spirit who directs us here on earth, in the way, everlasting. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Prayer-Poem
Comfort…
Wrap me up in Your love, Lord,
with ribbons of joy and rainbows of song.
I adore Your blessed name and
seek Your protection, guidance and comfort.
Let me know the fragrant calm of Your presence,
in the midst of life’s uncertain path.
Make my journey straight and clear.
May I know the whisper of Your voice in my wilderness.
May I rest sweet Jesus in Your peace.
In Your Blessed Name, Amen
