Lyrics: “Be Still” from A Gentle Kiss from God by Carol Ann Castagna ©2013, 2017, 2020, 2022
“Be still and know that I am God, today.” He whispers love to me:
“I’ll lead the way…Trust me with all your heart. Lean not to your own way. Trust me when naught you see. There’s grace for each new day.
Believe, my child, believe and it shall be.Though in the midst of night, soon
morning light you’ll see.
His promise is our hope, His love, our joy and stay.
Be still and know that I am God, today.”
To be more like Christ, we will desire what He desires; we will speak as He would have us speak. Above all, while we yet remain on earth, we will commune with Him "in quietness and in confidence." Isaiah 30: 15 tells us that "In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength."
We will be in prayer with Him, often and listen for “His still, small voice,” which may be revealed in a passage of Scripture in our daily reading or studying or Scripture in our meditation with the Lord. The Lord may answer us in the words of a hymn or in a Sunday sermon’s message. If we listen closely, we will find that
answer. It may not come soon and it may not be the answer we want to hear, but
we will know that the Lord has answered us. And His answer is what we need for our well-being.
Remember that the Lord is always near, ready to listen, ready to teach us the way He wants us to live. Open His Word, the Bible. The New Testament is a roadmap to Living the Christian Life.
Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit Holy Bible Romans 5: 8 and 11 New Living Translation NLT
“But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners…So, now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.”
“So, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. When you follow those desires, the results are very clear: hostility, jealousy, dissension division, lust, drunkenness, quarreling, outbursts of wrath and other sins like these.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There is no law against these things.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus, have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.” Galations 5:19-21
